This afternoon, Less Remote has explored radically new ideas about the future of our relationship to space. Artist Tomas Saraceno presented images of his astonishing visions of cities in the air and life among the clouds. Andy Miah aligned outer space futures with biologies that involve “transgressions” (stem cell research, xenotransplantation) in developing a way of thinking about the ethics of outer space exploration from his argument for the moral requirement to go into space. Dr Rachel Armstrong discussed the nitty-gritty of the mechanics of reproduction in space in relation to the long-term future of humanity in space.
